Ye’s Bully sweatpants were YZY’s SP-06 jogger, with one gothic word at the hip

Bully got merch before it got a release date. Days after Ye shared the album’s cover on Instagram in October 2024, a site went up with vinyl and CD pre-orders and a few shirts. Hypebeast noted there hadn’t been any word on when the album would actually be out.

The cover’s a black and white photograph by Daidō Moriyama, and the long sleeves blew it up across the chest, in black or white. The short sleeves didn’t bother with it: just BULLY, in gothic type.

Jogger 06, with a new word

The sweatpants show how YZY was working by then. yeezy.com published BULLY SWEATPANT BLACK ON BLACK on 11 Jan 2025, and it retailed at $20. Its SKUs give the game away: jogger-06. It’s the SP-06, YZY’s cuffed jogger from Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Tribune drop a few weeks earlier, with the Cyrillic at the hip swapped for the album title. The Tribune version had gone up at Christmas at the same $20. YZY sold it blank too, so this was the third version of the same pant.

It’s dark on dark, elastic at the waist and gathered at the ankle, with nothing else on it. The hoodie does the same across the chest, and yeezy.com’s image file for it reads hd-01-bully: the Tribune drop’s HD-01, relettered. Put the two together and it’s a tracksuit with one word on it.

A Grammys ad, three more pieces

On the night of the 2025 Grammys, YZY ran a commercial: a plain run of sweatshirts, tees and shoes, all $20. Hypebeast covered it in an update on 3 Feb 2025 and logged the tee, hoodie and sweatpants added to the Bully merch in the same breath. It read the fresh vinyl and CD pre-orders as fuel for a surprise drop. There still wasn’t an album date.

Hypebeast called the new pieces grey. yeezy.com’s product names say black on black. Even yeezy.com couldn’t settle it: every SKU under that black-on-black title says charcoal.
