The Dove Hoodie came in one colour for three months: washed black

Vogue ran the first Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga lookbook on 23 Feb 2022: 25 looks, credited to the line itself and written up by Steff Yotka. The first eight were on order that day at yeezygap.com and Farfetch. It’s the Dove Hoodie in two of the 25, looks 5 and 8, with a jacket, trousers, boots and a face covering around it.

GAP runs across the front in faded arch letters, and a white dove’s printed on the back. For three months, washed black was the only way to get one.

Ye, Demna and collection 022222

Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga was announced on 7 Jan 2022. It’s the part of Ye’s Gap line made with Balenciaga and its creative director, Demna. The first drop went up on yeezygap.com the same week as Donda 2 and the Netflix documentary jeen-yuhs, StockX News noted, and the store called that collection 022222.

$240 in washed black

The hoodie retailed at $240 in February 2022, in one colour, washed black, style 472996. That put it mid-drop: the Dove No Seam Tee retailed at $140 and the Padded Denim Jacket at $440, StockX News reported. The store listed it as unisex, 100% cotton, oversized and slightly cropped, with a note that a men’s M was a women’s L. That’s still worth knowing if you’re buying one now.

By May, StockX News put the washed black’s lowest ask at $450, almost twice its retail. It’s held up: in September 2026 Grailed asks for washed black ran as high as $375, while black mostly sat at $162-$290.

Black, dark blue, dark green and dark grey didn’t arrive until 27 May 2022, and when they did, they came under a new style number, 460551. The hoodie in Vogue’s pictures is the first one, 472996: the only Dove Hoodie that ever had the store to itself.
