Lil Uzi Vert shot Ye’s sunglasses in a Second Skin and left with a tattoo

The YR 3022 YZYGAP SHDZ didn’t get a lookbook. In August 2022 Yeezy Gap launched its sunglasses through photos that people close to Ye posted on their own accounts, Hypebeast reported. Lil Uzi Vert’s shows the two of them side by side in the shades, and Hypebeast and Pause both ran it on 11 Aug.

The shades were the product, but the photo’s worth more for the shirt. Uzi’s in the black Sleeveless Second Skin. It’s the one thing in the frame you can match, label and all, to a yeezygap.com listing.

The shoot left marks, too. Hypebeast reported that Ye, Uzi and Steve Lacy got matching tattoos during it: WE HERE, FOREVER, Technically. Nobody reported the date.

A square label and a pocket slit

Hypebeast said Uzi was dressed in Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga, and the top bears it out. The small square GAP label shows, and so does the slit of the seamless chest pocket, both the way they sit in the store’s own photos. There’s no graphic. You’d miss both details if you weren’t looking.

The Second Skin line ran from tanks to long sleeves, and Uzi’s is the sleeveless. The men’s and women’s cuts look the same from the front. Both went up on yeezygap.com with the 27 May 2022 drop, in black and dark green, so it wasn’t new stock by the time of the shoot. Highsnobiety called the Second Skins body-hugging, cut from a stretchy polyester and spandex blend, and it ran that piece on 12 Aug, the day after Uzi’s photo went around.

One fitted, one loose

Ye’s top isn’t a Second Skin. Pause described it as a looser, cut-off version and had both of them in washed black jeans. They match on everything except the fit.

The tattoos said FOREVER. Five weeks after the photos ran, Ye told Gap he was ending the deal.
