Season 4’s show was all buses and heat. Its camo hoodie went for $375

About 1,000 guests were told to be ready for pickup at 1:30pm. Then the buses to Roosevelt Island stalled in traffic, in the heat. By the time Yeezy Season 4 opened New York Fashion Week in Four Freedoms Park on 7 Sep 2016, the trip was the story. The post-show chatter wasn’t only about clothes, Marie Claire reported. It was about fainting models too.

adidas presented the show, and Ye had asked for the collection to be called “apparel”. What came down the line was what Marie Claire called his signature: oversized athleisure meets streetwear, a muted palette, camo prints. The camo hoodie is that season in one piece, and it’s still documented on two stores’ archived pages.

Tree camo, solid rib

The print’s a tree camo, leaves and branches in grey, sage and stone. The sides, cuffs and hem are a solid rib, and a small SEASON 4 tab is sewn inside the hood. Boxy is the word in both stores’ listings, and on Revolve’s model it’s wide through the chest and hangs to mid-thigh.

$375 at Revolve

Revolve sold it as the “Season 4 Boxy Fit Hoodie in Camo”, and it retailed at $375 (2017). It’s the clearest record of the piece. The listing gave the manufacturer’s style as KW4C201130, the body as 100% cotton and the rib as 95% cotton, 5% elastomer, in XS to L. Revolve’s copy paired it with matching sweatshorts, and its model wore it with thigh-high stretch boots.

Yeezy Supply didn’t leave it to the stockists. Its own Season 4 page, captured in December 2017, lists a “camouflage boxy fit hoodie” next to the camo pullover jacket and camo shorts. The product image is filed as KW4C201-130. Same code, same hoodie.

Ye’d wanted Season 4 called “apparel”, nothing grander. The listings took him at his word: a boxy fit hoodie, in camo.
